Anita was born on July 5, 1930, in Brooklyn and she was employed for many years as a bookkeeper at Kingsway Jewish Center. She enjoyed playing Mahjong and reading Danielle Steel novels.
Anita is survived by her daughter Eileen Appelblatt; son AJ Furman; grandson Jeffrey Appelblatt; grandson Stephen Appelblatt; granddaughter Elyse Appelblatt; and great-grandson Corey Appelblatt.
Anita was predeceased by her husband Leonard Furman in 1987; her brother Irwin Cooper; and sister Sylvia Shapiro.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30pm on Monday, August 10, 2026 at Beth Moses Cemetery, 1232 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, New York 11704. All guests are asked to meet outside the cemetery office at 12:00pm.
