Born in the Bronx, he resided in Brooklyn before settling in Marlboro Greens, Marlboro, NJ in 1987. In 2015 he moved to sunny Florida and resided in Aston Gardens, Tampa a lovely independent facility where he made many friends and enjoyed his last years.
Bernie started his career as a high school social studies teacher. He obtained his Master's degree in Administration from NYU. Prior to retiring Bernard was a principal for PS 148 in Brooklyn, NY. He also mentored student teachers at Rutgers University and Georgian Court University.
Bernie was very interested in history, current events and investing in the stock market.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Helene in 2012.
Surviving are his daughters: Natalie Wolle and her husband Jay, and Anne Rapisarda and her husband Russ. Bernie loved his five grandchildren: Marisa married to Asaf, Lauren married to Ben, Rich married to Jana and Joey married to Katie. He was predeceased by his grandson, Paul. Bernie was blessed to have eight great grandchildren: Sydney, Alexa, Dylann, Briella, Logann, Gavin, Hayes and Henry.
