OBITUARY

Carol Marks

July 25, 1946November 17, 2020

Carol Marks, 74, of Monroe Township, passed away on November 17, 2020. Born and raised in Brooklyn to her parents Ruth and Nathan Hochberg, Carol attended Erasmus Hall High School and Brooklyn College, where she earned a BS degree in Education. A natural leader and teacher, Carol went on to teach in public schools for over 20 years, with a particular passion for helping children with learning disabilities.

Carol married the love of her life, Ted Marks, in 1967, and shared over 30 years of wedded bliss before his passing from cancer in 2000. Raising their children Neil and Adam Marks in South Brunswick, NJ, the Marks family had an idyllic, almost fairy-tale like existence for many years, creating a household overflowing with love and support. Carol had an enormous heart, always the first to offer help and guidance and putting the needs of others in front of hers.

She was a determined, strong-willed woman, and her 19 year battle with cancer was a portrait of strength and courage that will continue to serve as a testament to her friends and family of the right way to face adversity head-on. She will never be forgotten, and her life lessons will continue to inspire everyone she touched.

Carol is survived by her two sons Neil and Adam, daughter-in laws Sherri Marks and Beth Marks, her brother Clifford Hochberg, her sister-in-law Laurie Hochberg, and her three adoring grandchildren Todd, Sophie and Joshua, who deeply loved their Grammy to the moon and back.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in Carol's name to the American Cancer Society at http://main.acsevents.org/goto/cmarks

There will be a private graveside service for family.

My condolences to all. I adored working with and becoming a good friend to Carol. She was an incredible woman and I will miss her terribly. I am grateful that I had her in my life and I am a better person for it.
