It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eugene Elliot Bernstein, who departed this life on January 16, 2026, at the age of 84. Eugene was born on April 27, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York, to David and Sylvia Bernstein.
Eugene was a dedicated husband to Roberta, his loving wife of 58 years, and a devoted father to Scott and Lisa. He was a proud grandfather to two grandchildren, Aidan and Evie. Eugene was a hardworking man who built a career as an architect, designing offices that stand as a testament to his talent and vision. Eugene's kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten.
Eugene is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, brother Monte, and many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels on January 19, 2026, at 1:00 PM.
Shiva will be at the family home in Old Bridge on January 19-21st, from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Congregation Beth Ohr (Old Bridge) or the American Heart Association in Eugene's memory.
