She was born in the Bronx, to William and Anna Mintz, and spent her childhood there. She has lived in Freehold for many years, where she raised her family.
Eva worked for over 40 years as a medical transcriptionist at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold until her retirement just a few years ago. She took great pride in her long career and created many meaningful friendships with her coworkers during those years.
Eva was an animal lover who had many beloved cats as pets over the years. She enjoyed seeing Broadway shows and taking day trips to Atlantic City. She also enjoyed playing Mahjong with friends at the local senior center.
Eva was predeceased by her husband Bernard in 1980. Having been widowed young, he remained the one true love of her life.
She is survived by her children: Andrew Wilensky of East Windsor, Philip Wilensky of Brick, and Lauren Weingard and her husband Michael of Baltimore, MD, and her cherished grandchildren Alexa and Bradley Weingard. Eva’s children were always the most important part of her life. She also adored her grandchildren and spoiled them every opportunity she got.
Eva kept a cheerful and positive attitude throughout all of life’s challenges and was always extremely generous. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 11:00am at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan. Friends and extended family should arrive between 10:15am - 10:45am for the 11:00am funeral service to pay their respects to the family before the funeral service begins. A private interment with follow at Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus.
