

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he moved to Freehold, NJ in 1994.
Mr. Mester was a retired Financial Director for the New York Times. He was an Army veteran, a member of the Battleground Knights of Pythias and served as past president for the Olde Oaks II Village in Raintree of Freehold for 14 years.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Regina Mester of Freehold, NJ, his daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Andrew Hilowitz of Marlboro, NJ, his son Matthew Mester and his fiancé Susan Kaufman of Matawan, NJ, his sister, Joan Coffino of Plainview, NY, his five grandchildren, Samantha and Melissa Hilowitz, Noah, Jack and Sophie Genovese-Mester, and his two step-grandchildren, Rachel and Lauren Kaufman.
Services will be held at 11:00am on Sunday, January 5, 2013 at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels in Manalapan, NJ. Interment will follow at Floral Park Cemetery in South Brunswick, NJ.
