He was born in Woonsocket, RI, spent his childhood in Massachusetts until he and his family moved to Bayside and then Little Neck, New York. He and his wife then lived in Forest Hills and Rego Park, New York until moving to Manalapan in 1969 with their two children.
A graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan University, Mr. Russin owned ProForma Graphics and Systems, Manalapan. He served in the US Army from 1958-1960. He was a member of Congregation Sons of Israel, Englishtown. He was a member of the Gordons Corner Fire Department for 50 years, and served Fire Police Chief for many years. He was also a Fire Commissioner for many years. He was a member of Boy Scouts of America and of the Boy Scouts Order of the Arrow.
Son of the late Benjamin and Ann Russian, he was also predeceased by his sister Susan Leventhal.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Irene, of 56 years, his loving children, Jagjeevan (Jill) Russin and Robert Russin and his wife Debbie, and his cherished grandchildren, Sarah Ann Hudes and Benjamin Aaron Hudes. He is also survived by his former son-in-law Steven Hudes, his sister-in-law, Diane Workman, his brother-in-law, Jerome Leventhal, his nieces and nephews Michele, Katie and David Workman, Lori Schlossberg (and her husband, Yehuda) and Mark and Edward Leventhal (and his wife, Karen) as well as his great nieces and nephews, Zachary and Alyssa Leventhal and Shlomo, Batya Leah, and Yitzy Schlossberg.
In respect and concern for everyone's health, a private graveside service was held on Monday, April 27th, 2020 at Sons of Israel Cemetery, Englishtown, which was preceded by a procession by the Gordons Corner Fire Company.
