Gertrude Lerner

Born in New York City, she resided in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Freehold 4 years ago.

Gertrude was a bookkeeper for Wise Optical in New York City.

She was predeceased by her husband, Morris Lerner, her son, Harvey A Lerner, her grandson, Evan Lerner, and her siblings, Rebe, Florence, Blanche, Morris, Sammy, and Heshie.

Surviving is her daughter, Sheila Kahn and her husband Robert, her daughter-in-law, Lois Lerner, her granddaughters, Erika Imranyi and her husband Mike, and Courtney Jacobs and her husband Adam and her grandson, Justin Kahn and his wife Jacey and her great-grandchildren, Aaron, Alexandra, Vivian, Olivia, Aiden, Julia, Ellie, and Annie.

The funeral service will be held at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, located at 44 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan, NJ, 07726, on October 20, 2025, at 11:00 am. Committal services will follow at 12:30 pm at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ.

Shiva will be held Monday at Sheila and Robert Kahn's home at 13 Middlesex Blvd. in Monroe Township, NJ. 08831 after the funeral until 8pm. Shiva will continue on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10am-1pm and 4pm-8pm.
