Mrs. Shapelow was born March 4, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York to Joseph and Ida (née Schneider) Kleiman. She lived in Sewell and Vineland before moving to Jackson for a period of 18 years. She then settled in Freehold a year ago.
Harriet was a bookkeeper for 28 years, retiring in 2003. She wrote for the West Lake Journal in Jackson. She was a member of the Red Hats and Hadassah.
Mrs. Shapelow is survived by her husband Arnold Shapelow; daughter Vicki Grant and her husband Stacey of Howell, New Jersey; son Jeffrey Shapelow of Swan Point, Maryland; and son Robert Shapelow and his wife Debra of Morrisville, Pennsylvania. Also survived by nine grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan, New Jersey 07726 followed by a burial at Mount Sinai Cemetery, 361 Highway #79, Marlboro, New Jersey.
A period of mourning will be observed at the Grant residence Wednesday, February 20, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM as well as 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
