Joan was an exceptional teacher and I feel so lucky to have had the priviledge of knowing her. She was loved by everyone who worked with her, especially the children she so lovingly taught. I will always remember her for the beautiful person she was. My deepest condolences to her family.

Joan will always hold a very special place in my heart. She was one of the kindest and sweetest person I know. I enjoyed coming to work everyday knowing that I would see Joan’s smiling face and words of encouragement. She never had an unkind word to say about anyone. I can never thank her enough for taking the time to tutor my daughter in math and giving her the self confidence to conquer anything she set her mind too.
She will be deeply missed .

Joan was my internship mentor back in 1993. She was an amazing educator and mentor. I learned so much from her but will always remember that she put the children first. After completing my internship at Sandpiper Shores, Joan helped me to get a permanent teaching position at the school where I have worked for 24 years. I will be forever grateful to Joan. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I was ever so fortunate to work with Joan at Sandpiper Shores Elementary. Joan was an exceptional educator who was loved by her colleagues and her students. Joan had a gift for teaching children. She was patient and kind, but always determined that her students would reach their fullest potential.
I hold Joan in special esteem in my heart and she will always be missed by each of us who were lucky enough to cross paths with her in this lifetime.
