Joan Leimbach, age 64, of Freehold, New Jersey passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 surrounded by her family. Joan was born April 11, 1957 in Brooklyn, NY, where she grew up and later graduated from SUNY Downstate with her BSN. Joan lived a fulfilling life, having traveled to Israel in her early years where she met her late husband Wilfred Leimbach on kibbutz Degania Alef . After their marriage in Cypress, Joan and Wilfred moved to Howell, NJ where they raised their children together. Joan devoted her life to helping others, both as a registered nurse and later on as a school board member. Joan spent the latter years of her career as director of case management at CentraState Medical Center. Joan also never failed to brighten the lives of others with her loving personality and her great sense of humor, still cracking jokes until her last moments.
Joan is survived by her daughter Danielle (David) Koch and her son Andrew (Kelly) Leimbach; her sister Nancy (Charles) Arolla and her brother Leonard Osher; her grandchildren Leah and Anderson Leimbach, and Willem Koch and her loving nieces and nephews; Allison, Michael, Natalie, Eliot, Sandra, Marcel as well as many other loving family members.
A funeral service for Joan will be held Friday, April 8, 2022 11:00 AM at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan, NJ 07726.
Following the funeral service will be a burial 12:30 PM at Beth Israel Cemetery, 1098 Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge, NJ 07095.
The family will be observing Shiva at Joan's late residence following the burial through 8:00 PM, as well as Sunday from 12PM to 4PM.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations in Joan's memory may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer at Lustgarten.org.
