Mr. Litman earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Baruch College in New York City. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a member of Congregation Sons of Israel in Manalapan, New Jersey.
Joseph Litman is survived by his son Richard Litman; daughter Susan Finkelstein and her husband David; daughter Marcia Sokal and her husband Bernie; granddaughter Emily Cohen and her husband Assi; grandson Ross Litman; grandson Adam Finkelstein and his wife Samantha; granddaughter Morgan Landes and her husband Elliot; grandson Matthew Sokal and his wife Kim; grandson Brian Sokal and his wife Diana; great grandson Yonaton Cohen; great granddaughter Ariela Cohen; great granddaughter Jodi Finkelstein; great granddaughter Clara Landes; great granddaughter Amelia Landes; and great grandson Jack Sokal.
Mr. Litman was preceded in death by his wife Mildred in 1982; sister Clara Lisker; and brother Max Litman.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 9:00 AM at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan, New Jersey 07726 followed by a committal service at Riverside Cemetery, 12 Market Street, Saddle Brook, New Jersey 07663.
A period of mourning will be observed at the residence of Susan and David Finkelstein following the committal on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 until Sunday, June 2, 2019. It will also be observed at the home of Richard Litman.
