

He was born in Brooklyn, where he lived until moving to New Jersey in 2014. He lived in Applewood Estates, Freehold for 5 years before moving to Brandywine Assisted Living, Englishtown.
Leo was a Navy veteran of World War II. Upon returning from service to his country he obtained a degree in business from City University.
He joined a family restaurant business and helped build the iconic "Leo's Famous" in Midtown Manhattan. People all over New York loved his "Tube Steak" as well as his gregarious personality and impeccable service.
Leo was predeceased by his wife Naomi, who passed away in 2014. They were happily married for over 60 years.
Surviving are his children Irv Cohen and his wife Sherry, Ellyn Fox and her husband Lew, David Cohen and his wife Mona, and Bert Cohen, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, his sister Shirley Simon and her husband Jack, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Monday January 27, 2020 at Wellwood Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY
