LILLIAN L. KLEIMAN passed away peacefully on July 11, 2018 at the age of 89.
Lillian was born in New York City in 1929 to Jacob and Regina Lieberman. She attended Public School 132, Hunter High School and graduated from New York University with a major in Marketing. She married Jerome (Jerry) Kleiman in 1950, and together they opened a successful Children's Clothing Store in upper New York City. After retiring from retail business, she worked in the wholesale children's garment Industry.
Lillian and Jerry lived in New York for several years before moving to Bergen County, New Jersey in 1958, where they raised their children, Charles and Carol. Thirty years later they moved to Marlboro, where they resided for another 30 years, until Jerry’s death in 2010. Lillian then moved to Applewood Estates in Freehold four years ago where she enjoyed an active life and developed new friendships.
Lillian was devoted to her family. She was outgoing; loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother! She enjoyed needlepointing, travelling, making new friends and spending time with her family. She was proud of her children’s accomplishments.
Lillian was an active member of Temple Shalom in Aberdeen.
Lillian was predeceased by her son Charles, who died in 2016. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ring and her husband Alan of Saylorsburg, PA, her daughter-in-law Dorothy Kleiman-Slattery from San Rafael, CA, her granddaughter Rachel and her husband Rich Alborn and two great grandchildren Annelise and Blake Alborn. Lillian is also survived by her sister, Gloria Waldinger, and her husband Arthur of Encino, CA and their daughters, Lori and Janna Waldinger, as well as nieces Cheri DeKofsy, Cynthia Kagan, and Judith Fyne; sister in law, Alma Leventhal and her children Peggy Lowell and Howard Leventhal. She is also survived by cousins Leomi and Irwin Simkin.
Lillian will be laid to rest next to her parents. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, July 15th, 2018 at 1:00, at Mt. Judah Cemetery, Ridgewood, NY.
