Born on November 5, 1941, to Joseph and Rebecca Gross, Linda was raised in Brooklyn and later Queens, where she married and raised her two daughters. After she graduated from Martin Van Buren High School, Linda earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at Adelphi University. During her distinguished career of over 25 years at Chase Bank, Linda blazed a trail, rising from teller to well-regarded branch manager.
Throughout her life, Linda made friends easily, including in her Monroe Township, New Jersey community, where she settled in retirement. She loved socializing, traveling, exploring restaurants and museums and attending shows and other cultural events. She was highly skilled at needlework and excelled at not only canasta but mahjongg, having completed the 55-hand Mahjongg card several times - a feat very few attempt and even fewer achieve.
Linda was a devoted mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. Strong, protective and steady, she had an intuitive sense of when to offer guidance and when to give space. She will always be cherished for her quick wit and mischievous sense of humor.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Lisa Klar (Kenneth Pickett) and Jennifer Shaw (David Shaw), and her grandchildren, Olivia and Lucas Shaw. She was predeceased by her husband, Jerry Heppenheimer, and her sister, Eileen (Gross) Weiss.
