It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Layman on Jul 28, 2026. A devoted matriarch, Linda’s love for her family and others was the cornerstone of her life, and her legacy of kindness and generosity remains an inspiration to all who knew her.
Linda was the beloved mother of Josh, Megan (Maiorana), and Matty Layman and mother-in-law to James Maiorana. Her greatest joy was found in her role as a grandmother to Annabelle, Victoria, Olivia, Daphne, and Phillip, each of whom she cherished deeply.
Family and friends are invited to honor Linda’s life at the following services:
Funeral Service
The funeral will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 30th, at Bloomfield Cooper, located at 44 Wilson Ave, Manalapan Township, NJ 07726. Friends and extended family should arrive between 9:15am - 9:45 am for the 10am Service Time.
Burial
Interment will follow the funeral service at approximately 1:00 PM at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, 78-00 Myrtle Ave, Glendale, NY 11385.
Shiva
The family will observe Shiva at the home of Megan and James Maiorana, 212 Azalea Ct, Toms River, NJ 08753, during the following times:
Thursday, July 30: 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM
Friday, July 31: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Linda’s enduring spirit, the family requests that donations be made to SCOPE (Summer Camp Opportunities Promote Education) http://www.scopeusa.org/linda-layman. These memorial gifts will provide children from under-resourced communities the life-changing experience of summer camp, supporting their journey from the classroom to a successful career.
