Lois Carol Murawski (née Rappaport) passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 91. Born in Manhattan on June 17, 1934, Lois departed this world as she lived—with family close and love all around her.
Lois was reunited with her beloved husband, Eugene Valentine Murawski (1933–2018), her Forever Valentine, with whom she shared 64 years of wedded bliss. In recent years, Lois lived at Village Point in Monroe Township, New Jersey, in the company of friends who became a true second family. For more than 35 years, Boca Raton, Florida was where she called home.
A devout Catholic, Lois was feisty, blunt, and unapologetically sarcastic, the kind of woman who told you the truth whether you asked for it or not. She had a heart that showed itself in her own signature ways: scratching backs to say “I love you,” checking in on everyone, and yes… minding everyone else’s business. She loved playing cards, Mahjong, cruising, being a true foodie, and visiting family located all around the country.
A devoted organizer and cleaner, Lois didn’t “hang out” with friends, she cleaned their houses instead (because why sit and chat when there are drawers to be sorted?). She was also famous for doing laundry in tiny batches (three pieces at a time), leaving cabinet doors open like it was her personal calling card, and being a member of just about every club imaginable at Town Villas. Lois bowled with her Staten Island girlfriends, camped with her family and friends, and made sure life stayed lively.
Lois also had a legendary origin story: she met Eugene at a Navy Gala. Eugene was not her date, but Lois decided that detail wasn’t going to stop her. She stole someone else’s date, and the rest is family history.
Lois is lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses: Glenn and Ellen Murawski, Teresa and Stephen Kane, Kim and Marty Shaw, Steven and Janet Murawski, and Paul and Chanin Murawski; and by her grandchildren: Thomas, Glenn, Christopher, Danielle, Leandra, Brittany, Alexa, Stephen, Raleigh, Drew, Gregory, Valerie, Benjamin, Nicholas, Ariel, Katie, Cody, Melody, Caroline, and Luke. She was also a proud great-grandmother to 24 great-grandchildren, with 3 more on the way, and is also survived by her cousins, Laurette Heidelberg and Gerard Fischer, and her nephew, John Lekanides with many other nieces and nephews.

Look out Geno, here she comes!
