Dear Neil, Scott and Marc. 
I am so saddened to read that your mom passed away. My deepest condolences to you. I used to babysit for you, when Marc was a baby, on Staten Island. Your parents were the nicest people. I remember their drug store. May your mom rest in eternal peace.

I entered a wrong date for meeting Marilyn, it should have been Sept 1961.

Scott's name came up as someone I might know this morning on Facebook. I was shocked to read of his mother's passing. In Sept 1958 I met Marilyn Shulman when she came to teach kindergarten at the school where I had been teaching. Since she lived in Brooklyn near me and she did not yet have a car or license, I drove her to and from Eastplain School in N Massapequa for a couple of weeks before I went on military leave. I also drove another gal, Roberta Ostroy, but only on Friday to Brooklyn and on Monday back to LI. I married Roberta who passed in Dec 1999. We were there for Marilyn and Lloyd's wedding, when the boys were born and when my sons were born. I last saw her in Staten Island when I was visiting from Florida more than 10 years agoi. My memories will remain with me forever. My condolences to her three sons and their famiies. May her memory be for a blessing! Rest in peace sweet Marilyn.

To the Machlovitz family....we extend our deepest sympathy to you at this most difficult time.  May the fond memories you have of your mom sustain you now and forever.  She was so proud of all her children and grandchildren.
