Millstone Twp. – MARK EMANUEL FELLER born on February 12th, 1949 peacefully passed away at his home on Sunday, June 7, 2020. He was 71. Born in Brooklyn, he attended Brooklyn College where he received his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science Degree in Special Education. He received 80 additional graduate credits to advance his teaching career.
Mark was married to Carol for 29 years. They met on a blind date through a friend of Mark’s. Together they enjoyed cruising, the race track, movies, music, eating out, internet shopping, entertaining in their home & spending time with family and friends.
Early on Mark was a hands-on grandfather to Perry, Clay, Cameron and Tyler. He even changed a diaper or two. He loved giving the boys bobbleheads of famous athletes in the NBA & NFL. He was always a warm, kind and generous hearted man who took pride in the gift of giving. Mark loved nothing more than to make his wife happy. He showered her with all kinds of gifts throughout the years.
He started his career as a teacher, but then took time to venture into the stock market. He had many small business opportunities that led him to owning & racing thorough and standardbred horses. His horses won over 30 plus titles through the years.
Years later he went back to teaching in a very tough section of Brooklyn. He taught reading for over 20 years to children who needed rigorous intervention to close their achievement gap. For years he commuted from Marlboro to Brooklyn, which was no easy task. Subsequently, he persevered and retired in his early 60's with a full pension from the New York Board of Education.
Mark enjoyed listening to music. He had several hundred CD’s in his collection including the Boss, Billy Joel, and Hall & Oates. He was also an avid concert goer. He loved live music especially at PNC Arts Center. He attended over 250 concerts in his lifetime. He regularly enjoyed reading the paper top to bottom. Mark loved the track. He often went to visit with his buddies and see his horses race. Mark loved sweets. Vanilla ice cream was his favorite dessert. There was always chocolate sprinkles and syrup in the house. He will be sorely missed by all he touched in his lifetime.
Surviving are his loving wife of 29 years, Carol, Carol’s daughter’s Ellen & Amy, spouses Steven and Andy, as well as 4 grandchildren: Perry, Clay, Tyler & Cameron.
A cryptside service will be held at Mt. Sinai Cemetery & Mausoleum under the direction of Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mark's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
