I was deeply saddened and shocked to learn of Marlas and Larrys passing. I was their petsitter and took care of Sheba whenever they traveled. I was very fond of them both. Sheba was a doll though very shy. I hope some care was taken in finding a new home for Sheba since she was such a shy little girl. Dear Marla,

I was trying to get in touch with you, and was shocked and saddened to hear the news that you have passed.  I think of you often, even after the many years that have passed.  I will always be grateful to you for the support and guidance you gave me through the difficult times in my life.  I always appreciated your advice as a therapist, but came to think of you as a friend.  You showed me kindness, and sometimes gave me the tough truths that I needed to hear, but most importantly, you always gave me hope and helped me see the light at the end of the tunnel...for all of that, and more, I thank you. Dear Marla...It has been over ten years since I moved upstate.  I have been thinking about you so much this year.  I was hoping to reconnect and have been trying to find you.  This was not what I expected. You were an amazing person and I am so so sad to hear that you are not with us anymore.  You saved me with your kindness, refreshing honesty and shining light during such a difficult time.  I have quoted you on many an occasion even after all these years.  I thank you with all my heart. I was a neighbor of both Marla and Larry. I just returned from Florida and was stunned to hear about their passing. My heart goes out to the entire family. I took care of Sheba once when Marla and Larry traveled.

I am so sorry to hear of Marla's passing. She was an incredibly generous and strong independent spirit with a huge heart. I will miss her kindness and her wonderful sense of humor.
