Martin Katz

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Marty proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He raised his family in New Jersey and most recently called Monroe Township, New Jersey and Boynton Beach, Florida his homes.

Marty was the owner/operator of Covax Fabrics in New York City. He referred to himself as a rag peddler. In his retirement, Marty enjoyed traveling. He was an exemplary artist who excelled at painting and photography. Marty was a champion ping pong player and loved billiards, bowling, bocce ball and shuffleboard.

Marty was predeceased by his parents Nathan and Ida Katz, his first wife Marcia (Chizner) Katz, his brother Bernard Katz, his sisters Myra Schwartz and Rhoda Rand and his son-in-law Tom Carmine.

Surviving is his wife of 39 years Marolynne (Guberman) Katz, his daughters Fran Carmine, Cheryl Doktor and her husband Daniel, Sara Farkas and her husband Steve, Hope Peters and her husband Tom, Robyn Bohall and her husband Ken, his brother Howie Katz and his wife Dotty, his sister Barbara Riegler and her husband Michael, his grandchildren Allison and her husband Toby, Michael and his wife Natasha, Matthew and his fiancé Katie, Kevin, Brett and his wife Michal, Sami and her husband Joe, Sydney and her fiancé Aliyah, Keith and his fiancé Meghan, Jonathan and his fiance Maddie, Katelyn, Mark and his girlfriend Andrea and his great-grandchildren Michaela, Jenna, August, Shelby and Baker.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 31, 2026, 11am at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan, NJ 07726. Committal Services will follow at Floral Park Cemetery, 104 Deans Rhode Hall Rd, South Brunswick Township, NJ 08852.

Shiva will be held at the Katz Residence 4 Phoenix Road, Monroe Township, NJ after services from 2-4pm & 6-8:00pm and Tuesday 2-5pm. Minyan will be at 7:00pm on Monday evening.
