May 5, 1932 – August 10, 2022
Martin Stanley Reich, loving husband, family man and friend, passed away on August 10, 2022 at the celebrated age of 90.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Marty graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from Baruch College, City University of New York. He proudly served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army, stationed in Germany and Austria. After returning from active duty overseas, Marty continued to serve as a reservist until 1964. It was during this time he began his long career in New York City’s bustling garment center. Well respected in the industry, Marty was made partner at Loweth-National Buying Service and spent many years truly enjoying his work, making friends of colleagues and competitors alike. He retired from full time work in 2010 at the age of 77.
Marty and his beloved wife Lollie were married in 1958 and welcomed twin daughters in 1960. A devoted family man, Marty enjoyed raising his girls alongside his adoring wife. Marty was an avid golfer and for years got up before dawn to get his 18 holes in. Though a New Yorker at heart, Marty wholeheartedly embraced life as an active retiree across the river in New Jersey. He enjoyed playing pool and working out in the clubhouse gym, relished his weekly lunch outings with his good friends and was active on several community committees. Marty continued to hone his golf game, taking full advantage of much improved tee times. He loved to read and, particularly in later years, enjoyed Netflix to the fullest. What a blessing that he was able to participate in the weddings of all four of his cherished grandchildren.
Marty is survived by his devoted wife Lollie, his children Donna and Steve Pinto and Debra and Nathaniel Ross; grandchildren Steven and Samantha Bachman; Jonathan and Katie Ross; Melissa and Zachary Aronson; Jennifer and Gary Levine; and great grand-children Julie, Hayley Sydney, Aidan, Nathan, Benjamin and Liam. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Sheldon and Barbara Reich; his beloved niece and nephew Leslie and Richard Liss and the rest of his loving family. Marty was predeceased by his parents Sylvia and Nathan Reich.
