Marty went to Brooklyn Technical High School and earned his Bachelor's Degree at Pratt Institute. He was a United States Army veteran, serving during the time of the Korean War. He was a proud member of the Jewish War Veterans of America.
Marty was a sweet man with a great sense of humor, he adored his wife of nearly 60 years, Doris, and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He always had a smile on his face and he gave the best advice. He had a well known love of Chinese food and naps.
Marty is survived by his wife the former Doris Goren; daughter Lisa Fenlon (Harry) of South Amboy; daughter Faith Viot (Cyril) of East Brunswick; son Eric Schwartz (Christine) of Hazlet; brother Gerald Schwartz (Toni); brother Elliot Schwartz (Linda); brother-in-law Sam Brauer; grandchildren Heather Johnsen; Nick Fenlon; Casey Fenlon; Chloe Viot; and Noah Viot.
Marty was preceded in death by his sister, Naomi Brauer.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 11:00 AM at United Hebrew Cemetery, 122 Arthur Kill Road, Staten Island, New York 10306. Socially distanced Shiva will be observed at 51 Kossman Street, East Brunswick, New Jersey on Wednesday only, at 2:00 PM.
