Born in New York City, he resided in the Bronx and the Poconos before settling in the Concordia community of Monroe Township 11 years ago.
After overcoming a very difficult childhood in which he was abandoned to an orphanage, Marvin was able to achieve success as the co-owner of a manufacturing company in New York City. He later wrote a book detailing his boyhood experiences in a memoir titled Escape to an Orphanage, which is available on Amazon.
In addition to professional success, Marvin was a devoted, adoring husband to Frieda, his wife of almost 62 years. He was also a loving, playful, doting father and grandfather, who delighted in entertaining his family with his quick wit and creative mind.
Surviving is his loving wife, Frieda; his children, Janet and David; Janet’s husband, Dan Portnoy; and his grandchildren, Dana and Brett Portnoy.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 25 at 1:00pm at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ. Interment will immediately follow.
