Max was born October 8, 1929 in the prior Czechoslovakia, now part of Ukraine, and lived in Manalapan, NJ for the past 20 years. He was the proprietor of Mr. Tires, Inc., a tire and auto repair business in Brooklyn, NY, for more than 40 years where he also resided.
Max enjoyed traveling, reading, politics and sports.
He was a holocaust survivor, and was dedicated to educating people about his experiences. Max also was a veteran of the IDF having fought in 1948 for Israeli Independence. He was a long-time member of Congregation Sons of Israel, Manalapan, NJ.
Max was predeceased by his wife Millicent, who passed away last year.
He is survived by his sons Andrew Stevens, Lake Worth, Florida; Jeffrey Roth, Sydney, Australia; and David Roth, Westfield, New Jersey; brother Yehoshua Roth, Jerusalem, Israel; and grandchildren Stephanie, Genna, Hallie, Rachel, Rebecca and Charlie.
Services for Max will be at "Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels" 44 Wilson Avenue (Route #527 North), Manalapan, New Jersey on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.
Burial will follow at Congregation Sons of Israel Cemetery, Manalapan, New Jersey.
The Period of Mourning will be observed at his late residence following the service and Friday: 12-3pm, 5-7pm
