Born in the Bronx, he resided in Brooklyn before settling in Manalapan with his family.
Norman was an architect for the City University of New York for 37 years where he oversaw the construction of new university buildings. He also had a private practice focused on residential real estate.
Norman loved to read the newspaper cover to cover and could spend an entire Sunday reading different newspapers. He also enjoyed the PBS News Hour and This Old House. Norman enjoyed creating different stained glass designs and listening to classical music while drawing up his different architectural plans. More than anything, Norman was a family man. He was always focused on taking care of his home and family.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of over 40 years, Harriet in 2013.
Surviving is his son, Brett Becker and his wife Cheryl; his brother, Howard Becker and his wife Diane; his caregiver for the past 4 years, Nana Kojo Asamoah; and extended family and close friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 11AM at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan, NJ. Interment will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ.
