Richard Jay Kolson, age 71, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020. He was born August 1, 1948 to George and Pauline (née Schuman) Kolson.

He resided in East Brunswick from 1975 - 2016 and then settled in Lakewood. He was an avid New York Giants and New York Yankees fan.

Mr. Kolson was preceded in death by his loving wife Paula (née Blackman) Kolson in May 2013 and his beloved Yorkies Rustina Love, Trixie Love, and Roxie Love.

Richard is survived by his daughters Marci Sonenblum (Paul) and Kelly Terwilliger (Brian); brother Kenneth Kolson; fiancée Sylvia; grandchildren Paige and Chase Sonenblum and a granddaughter Terwilliger on the way; brother-in-law Phil Rubin; brother-in-law Jules Blackman (Eleanor); nieces Amy, Lora, and Elizabeth; and nephews Jason, Joshua, and Bryan.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Beth Israel Cemetery, 1098 Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge, New Jersey 07095 immediately followed by a burial.

The period of mourning will be observed by appointment only. Please contact Marci Sonenblum for more information.
