Mrs. Herling is survived by her daughter Jessica Gancz and her husband Paul; son Steven Herling and his wife Patricia; sister Carol Tieman and her husband Herb; six granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband Bertrum Herling in June 2018.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Baron Hirsch Cemetery, 1126 Richmond Avenue, Staten Island, New York 10314.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rita's memory may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.jdrf.org) and / or Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
