Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, Ron was the proud son of Rose Katz and a graduate of St. Peter's College. He served in the United States Army as a First Lieutenant and was stationed in Korea.
Following his military tenure, Ron enjoyed a long, successful career in merchandise management. Ron and his wife, Shelley, lived in Clark, NJ where they raised their children Steven and Helaine, before retiring to Florida. He was an avid boater and volunteered for the Coast Guard Auxiliary. For the past year, Ron and Shelley have resided in Old Bridge, NJ and most of all enjoyed spending time with beloved family.
Ron's legacy will live on through his beloved wife of 62 years, Shelley Karmiller; his loving children, Steven Karmiller and daughter-in-law Cathleen of Franklin, TN, Helaine Sadowitz and son-in-law Bruce of New Brunswick, NJ; his grandchildren, Cassie and Danny McBride, Courtney Karmiller, Dana and Bill Clark who are expecting Ron's first great grandchild, Meagan Karmiller, Eryn Karmiller, Michael Sadowitz and Jacob Sadowitz.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 15th at 11:00 am at Bloomfield Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan, followed by burial at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org) and/or the Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org).
