

Stephen Melnik, age 71, of Jackson, formerly of Manalapan passed away on Thursday at Centra State Medical Center, Freehold. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lee; his daughter, Beth; grandchildren ; JT, Zach and Paiton; and his sisters-in-law and brothers-in- law, Gerry August, Joel Johnson, and Maxine and Stephen Kaye. Steve was predeceased by his daughter, Jodi.
Steve was an active member of the Holocaust Survivors Group affiliated with Brookdale Community College. He was one of the fewer than 100 children who survived Terezin Concentration Camp, so he was a miracle. He retired as an accountant. He treasured helping to take care of his three grandchildren. He will be missed for his kindness, love, and gentleness.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday September 2nd 2012 at Beth Olam Memorial Park, Route 70, Lakewood, under the direction of Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan,N.J.For your convienence cemetery directions are below .

Take New Hampshire Avenue northbound.
Cross over Route 70
At the first traffic light, turn right (Oak St)
Turn right at the second street (Paco Way)

Take exit #88 and bear to the right, which is a "yield" onto Route 70 westbound.
Go straight through the first light at Airport Rd.
Beth Am Shalom & Beth Olam Memorial Park is a few hundred feet further on the right.

From the south via the NJ Turnpike: (preferred route from the south)
Take exit 7A and follow signs to #195 East.
Somewhere around exit 35B, follow signs for the Garden State Parkway South.
Travel Approx. 10 miles on Parkway to Exit 88 and follow directions above.

Take exit 83 for Route 9 North.
At the 2nd light turn right on Whitty Rd.
At next light, turn left on New Hampshire Ave.
