Walter Weinstein was a proud World War II veteran and a dedicated leader in his profession. He served as chairman of the board of Danny Boy Manufacturing Co. and Chandler Sportswear, guiding his children’s wear manufacturing business from 1946 until his retirement in 1991. He also served for many years as president of the Infants and Juvenile Manufacturers Association. Beyond his professional life, Walter gave deeply of himself to his community, serving as chairman of the Israel Bond Campaigns and the Jewish Federation Campaigns in Cranford, New Jersey, along with many other philanthropic efforts.
Walter was the beloved husband of the late Estelle Weinstein and the late Lee Weinstein. He was devoted to his longtime partner Myrna Ganz. Walter was a deeply caring and devoted father and father-in-law to Barry and Amelia Weinstein, Cindy and Jim Lange, and Jeffrey Weinstein. He took immense pride in his family, including his 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
As the patriarch, Walter devoted himself to keeping his family connected. Each year, he brought everyone together for a reunion—an enduring tradition that strengthened their ties no matter how far they lived from one another.
Walter lived with a clear and steady purpose: to pursue an education, build a meaningful livelihood, care for his family, and ensure that his children had the educational opportunities they needed to thrive. Equally important to him was helping others — giving back, supporting the less fortunate, and striving to leave the world better than he found it. Walter passed these values on to his family, and his life stands as a testament to those ideals.
