

She is survived by her brother Daniel Siegel of Boca Raton, Florida and her sisters Carolyn Siegel and Bryna Bear, both of Freehold, New Jersey. She also was survived by her two nephews, Billy Chandruang and Nate Bear and her niece, Jessica Siegel. She had four grandnieces and nephews.
Wendy was born in the Bronx and grew up there. She also resided in Queens, Long Island, Manhattan and Staten Island, New York; and in Union Beach and Freehold, New Jersey. She attended Ohio State University and graduated from Queens College in New York. Wendy was a teacher with the New York City Board of Education for over 30 years before her retirement in 1999. She taught Junior High School for several years before teaching Social Studies at Tottenville High School for almost 30 years.
She loved to travel. She spent a college semester in Mexico. She visited many US states, many countries in Europe and Eastern Europe and also went to Iran. She spoke French and Spanish. She was an Anglophile and loved everything British.
Wendy was an avid sports fan. She loved the NY Yankees and went to many baseball games at Yankee stadium. She followed basketball and was a NY Knicks fan. She was a NY Giants football fan. She knew all the names of the players and many of their stats.
She loved Broadway Musicals and would listen to the scores for hours. She loved the color purple, butterflies, puzzles, salmon, vanilla ice cream, marzipan and mint chocolate. She loved reading, especially Jane Austen and PD James. She loved to visit art museums and especially loved Monet and the impressionists. She enjoyed going to movies, plays and an occasional opera.
She was very kind and generous and helped people without question or hesitation. She was a loyal friend with many friendships kept for over 50 years. She was very smart and knew so many things that she was like a walking encyclopedia.
Wendy will be dearly missed by her family and friends and all those she interacted with.
