Yvette was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Kasloff in 2015 and her son, Steven Kasloff in 2007. She is survived by her daughter Nadine Bennett Goldstein and her son-in-law Richard Goldstein of Freehold, New Jersey, her son Stewart Kasloff of Riverdale, New York, her granddaughter Melanie Bennett of Freehold, New Jersey, her grandson and daughter-in-law Michael and Laurie Bennett, and her great-grandchildren, Shoshana, Arielle, Atara, Avi, and Asher Bennett who reside in Israel.
Born in New York City, the daughter of Minnie and Max Reiser, Yvette was raised in the West Bronx and attended Taft High School.
Yvette was an only child and cherished her relationship with her best friend Selma, who she met in the 7th grade. Selma and Yvette were the maids of honor at each other's weddings, and Selma and her husband Jay were best friends with Yvette and Larry throughout their lives.
Yvette met the love of her life, Larry Kasloff when they both were 15 years old at S. Klein Department Store in Manhattan. They married on March 27, 1947 and remained devoted to one another for 68 blessed years. They were truly best friends and complemented one another perfectly until Larry's sudden passing in 2015. They held hands wherever they went and every morning Larry told Yvette how beautiful she was. She loved the heartfelt messages he wrote on all the cards he gave her.
Together, they raised three children, Nadine, Steven, and Stewart. In 1963 they built a beautiful home in Old Bridge, New Jersey, and brought Yvette's parents from the Bronx to live with them at their new house with their children.
Yvette was a woman ahead of her time. When she and Larry bought their first car in 1953, Yvette made sure she learned to drive. She was very independent and became the first woman in her family and among her friends to get a driver's license.
Later, Yvette learned computer skills in the 1960s and used that knowledge to work for 25 years in Sears' catalog department.
Yvette loved cooking for her family, including her "famous" brisket, eggplant parmigiana, and meatballs and spaghetti.
She also enjoyed playing Mahjong; loved animals, including her cats and dog; traveling with her husband Larry and their children on family vacations; and hosting parties and backyard barbeques for family and friends.
Yvette was an amazing mother and encouraged her three children to pursue their dreams, and supported their different career decisions. She drove Nadine to dance lessons from the Bronx and Old Bridge to Manhattan. She encouraged Nadine to get her degrees in psychology and her career in mental health. Yvette babysat Nadine's children when she attended graduate school at night while Larry worked.
Yvette was in awe of her son Steven's artistic and writing talents. She closely followed his award-winning advertising career on Madison Avenue and later in Hollywood, where he wrote movie trailers and directed commercials.
Yvette always referred to her youngest child, Stewart as her "baby," and was very proud of his award-winning career as a journalist, TV producer, and writer.
Yvette and Larry passed on their love of Judaism to their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They were delighted when their grandchildren attended Solomon Schechter Day School.
Yvette shared a special relationship with her granddaughter, Melanie, who would call her grandmother almost daily during her drive home from work to chat and tell Yvette about her day.
When Yvette got older, she adored her longtime live-in aide, Lika, who took great care of her and they developed a special relationship.
