Alice Padden, 94, of Manchester died August 22, 2012 at Maple Leah Health Center after a lengthy illness. A lifelong resident of Manchester, she was born here on June 4, 1918, the daughter of Adam and Rosilia (Petrowska) Jamrogiewicz.

Prior to retirement she was the long time proprietor, along with her late husband, of the Shamrock Café on Central St. She was a communicant of OLPH parish. Alice loved small animals, especially her dog, Sammy. She is cherished by her family as a loving sister and aunt.

Family members include a brother, John Jamrogiewicz and his wife Rita of Londonderry; two sisters, Anne Coe of Hudson, NH and Esther Maciejewski and her husband Joe of Manchester; nieces, Deborah A. Gosselin and her partner Michael O’Shea of Manchester, Cynthia Meischeid and her husband Richard of Jacksonville, FL and Carolyn Hardy and her husband Mike of Litchfield. She was pre deceased by her husband Martin Padden in December 1985 and a sister, Genevieve Gosselin.

Funeral services are private. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford. The McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St. is assisting the family with arrangements.
