

Anne M. Romar, 90, of Manchester, passed away on July 18, 2011 after a period of declining health. She had been a resident of the Villa Crest Rehabilitation Center for three years. She was born in New York City on September 10, 1920 the daughter of Edward and Katherine (Anselmin) McCoy. Anne was educated in the New York City School System and was retired from the AT&T Corporation.
From 1961 to 1967, Anne resided in Georgetown, MA where she formed a Girl Scout Troop and was its’ organizer, leader & consultant. When she returned to New York, she was active in cooking and delivering with the Meals on Wheels program in her church. She moved to Hillcrest Terrace in Manchester in 1992 where she participated in many of the activities and organizations including maintaining the library and the general store. Anne enjoyed reading, knitting and traveling, especially to Ireland & Italy.
She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Frank Romar, in 2001. She was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church.
Members of her family include her three sons Frank Romar and his wife Bess of Merrimack, Dr. Edward Romar and his wife Mary Ann of Arlington, MA and Richard Romar and his wife Carole of Centreville, VA, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, her sister Eileen Rindos of No. Carolina as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
An hour of visitation will be held on Tuesday July 26, 2011 from 9 to 10AM at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St corner of Beech St. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 at St. Catherine of Siena Church 207 Hemlock St. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Bedford. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Anne’s name to the New Horizons Soup Kitchen 199 Manchester St. Manchester, NH 03104 or to the Monastery of the Precious Blood 700 Bridge St. Manchester, NH 03104.
