Arthur M. Desrosiers

Arthur M. Desrosiers, 75, a winter resident of Cape Coral FL passed away March 14, 2013 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral. He was born May 5, 1937 in Manchester, the son of the late Joseph A. and Fernande M. (Messier) Desrosiers.

He was raised in Manchester and was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1957 and later the NH Vocational and Technical Institute. He attained his certification as a teacher/instructor in the JATC from Perdue University. He served eight years as a member of the NH National Guard.

Art was a member of UA of Journeymen & Apprentices of the Plumbing & Pipefitting, Local 131 for 40 years. He also served 5 years as a certified instructor of Journeymen and Apprentices program. Prior to retirement in 2001, Art was employed for 21 years by the Elliot Hospital as a Master plumber.

Art was an avid Patriots fan. He also enjoyed playing golf; he was a member of the Divot Masters Golf League at Candia Woods and also a member of the Cape Coral Cops Shop and a volunteer at the Red Sox spring training complex in Fort Myers, FL. He served as the president of Dockside Condominiums in Cape Coral.

His family includes his wife of 31 years, Jeannine; five children, James (Linda) of Ohio, Cathy (Gus) Lindh, Susan (Ronald) Legendre, Margaret (Reginald) Drapeau and Joseph (Jennifer), all of N. Port, FL; four stepchildren, Michael Mercier of Wellington, FL, Paula (Michael) Lyons of Concord, Douglas (Chamaine) Mercier of Mars, PA and Roger R. (Zoriada) Mercier Jr. of Dover; two sisters, Eileen (Delbert) Pope of Manteca, CA and Carolyn (Jerry) Folz of Raymore, MO; fourteen grandchildren; nine step grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A celebration of his life was held on Saturday, July 13th at 11 am in the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., corner of Beech St. Urn burial with military honors followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
