Aurore A. Villeneuve, 82, of Bedford passed away on November 1, 2014 at her home after a long period of failing health. She was born in Manchester on September 9, 1932 the youngest of nine siblings of Joseph and Angeline (Delisle) Dion. She was raised in the Queen City, was educated in the local school system and attended Manchester Central High School.
She lived in Manchester with her husband Maurice before relocating to Bedford where they made their home. She was employed at Bee Bee Shoe Co. and will be remembered fondly by many former Bedford students as “Mrs V.”, the lunch lady at McKelvie Middle School and also as a school bus driver.
Aurore was known for her wonderfully sharp sense of humor and her fierce loyalty to her family. She loved all animals, especially dogs and cats, and enjoyed watching tennis, slapstick comedies by such actors as Peter Sellers and John Ritter and being challenged by crossword puzzles. She will be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years Maurice Villeneuve of Bedford, her two sons Richard “Moe” Villeneuve and his wife Christine of Medford, MA and Scot Villeneuve and his wife Darlene of Milton, NH, her six grandchildren Race DeSimone, Heath DeSimone, Oskar Villeneuve, Sienna Villeneuve, Larkyn Villeneuve and Chase Villeneuve as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There were no calling hours. A private service for immediate family members was held at the NH State Veterans Cemetery. Friends are invited to join her family for a celebration of her life on Saturday November 22 from noon to 3PM in the function hall at St. Elizabeth Seton Church 190 Meetinghouse Rd. in Bedford.
