Diane J. Cormier-Agan, 62, of Mitchell, Indiana and formerly of Manchester, died June 24, 2016 at her home after a courageous battle against breast cancer. She was born in Manchester on September 16, 1953 the daughter of Laurent and Grace (Humphrey) Cormier. She grew up in the Queen City, was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Manchester High School Central Class of 1971.
Following her graduation, Diane enlisted in the Marine Corps where she proudly served for 18 years. After her discharge, she relocated to Indiana with her husband Christopher where she worked as a manager for Home Depot and for Orscheln Farm and Home Stores and more recently for Rural King. She was a member of the American Legion in Indiana where she served as Post Adjutant and was also a member of the Womens Marine Association. She loved spending time with her family and friends and will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, sister and aunt.
Members of her family include her husband Christopher Agan of Mitchell IN, her two sisters Susan Clow and her husband Victor of Auburn and Patricia Dequoy and her husband Mark of Rotterdam, NY, her nieces Elyse and Michelle and her nephew Larry as well as several cousins and many friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday July 5 from 4 to 7 pm at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday July 6 at 10 am in St. Catherine of Siena Church 207 Hemlock St. in Manchester. Burial with military honors followed in St. Augustin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Diane’s name be made to the I Win Foundation PO Box 30648 Indianapolis, IN 46220 or to the Lawrence Co. Cancer Patient Services 219 Sycamore Dr. Bedford, IN 47421.
