

Irene F. Fox, 81, of Manchester, died December 7, 2015 at Mt. Carmel Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after a lengthy illness. She was born in Manchester on January 28, 1934 the daughter of James and Mary (Florek) Fox and was a lifelong resident of the Queen City. She was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Manchester High School Central.
She was employed as an administrative assistant for the City of Manchester with more than 30 years of service. Irene loved dogs, was a breeder of boxers and was the founder and past president of the Granite State Boxer Club. She was also a member and officer of the Middlesex Boxer Club and the Rhode Island Boxer Club. She loved spending time with her family and friends and will be remembered as loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Mary Boardman.
Members of her family include her nieces Patricia Thirsk and Kathleen Boardman-Feeney, her nephews James Boardman, John Boardman and Thomas Boardman, her special long-time companion and guardian Michele Putnam as well as several great- nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday December 11 from 11 am to noon at McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester. A Funeral Service was celebrated at noon in the funeral home. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Irene’s name be made to Mt. Carmel Rehabilitation and Nursing Center 235 Myrtle St. Manchester, NH 03104.
