Jacqueline M. Baroody, 80, of Manchester, died December 31, 2018 at Villa Crest Nursing & Retirement center after a long illness. She was born in Stoneham, Massachusetts on January 13, 1938 the daughter of Howard C. and Mary D. (Murray) Frederick. At an early age, she moved with her family first to Presque Isle, Maine and finally settled in Epping where she was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Epping High School.
On October 29, 1960, Jackie was married to the love of her life, Robert Baroody, and together they shared 43 years of life, laughter and love before his passing in 2004. She was employed in the early years of the New England Telephone Company and later was the co-owner/operator of Baroody’s Market , a Massabesic St. fixture, for many years. She was a member of the Auburn Seniors Group. She enjoyed watching Hallmark Channel movies and the Food Network and relished her quiet time spent reading her favorite romance novels and working on a challenging jigsaw puzzle. Jackie’s family was everything to her and she loved spending time with them on family outings to the beach or just playing with her grandsons and great-grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered as a loving & devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
She was predeceased by her sister Patricia Gregor.
Members of her family include her sons Glenn Baroody and his fiancee Susan Prokopik of Auburn and Mark Baroody and his fiancée Jessica Kuhn of Manchester, her grandsons Chase Baroody and his fiancée Natina Jacques of Bedford and Brock Baroody and his fiancée Katelyn Barnum of Weare, her great-grandchildren Grayson Baroody, Abigail Landry and Emma Landry, her brothers Lawrence Frederick and his wife Carolyn of Merrimack and Ft. Myers, Florida, James Frederick and his wife Judy of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Michael Frederick and his partner Diane Orzel of Wilton and her sisters Joanne Morin and her husband Gary of Auburn, Maine and Dorothy Przybyla and her husband Joseph of Lakeland Florida as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Sunday January 6 from 2 to 5 pm at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester. A Funeral Service was celebrated on Monday January 7 at 10 am at Our Lady of the Cedars Church 140 Mitchell St. in Manchester. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery in Bedford. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Jackie’s name be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research 111 West 33rd St. New York, NY 10120.
