Born in Yonkers, New York on January 5, 1927, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Anna (DeAngelis) Rosato.Joseph earned his high school diploma and took a great interest in sports, serving as the captain of his high school basketball and baseball team. At the age of eighteen, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during World War ll aboard the USS Colorado, primarily stationed in the South Pacific. After his time in the Navy, Joseph brought his love for sports into college and was the catcher for the Northern State Teachers College home team. Joseph earned his bachelors degree at the New York University and spent most of his career as a Manager and District Manager for MetLife Insurance. Joseph had many passions in life and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, loved to travel, play golf, baseball, basketball, and spending time with family.
Joseph is survived by his son, Gary Rosato and wife, Leigh (Tethers) Rosato; brothers, Daniel Rosato and wife, Rosemary; Peter Rosato and wife, Doreen; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Smith and husband, AJ, Emily Rosato and husband, Jonathan; and two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Nora Smith.
In addition to his parents, Joseph is predeceased by his wife, Regina (Oborski); and six brothers, Frank, John, Thomas, Dominic, Ralph and Anthony Rosato.
A visitation for Joseph will be held Monday, July 15, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at McHugh Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 283 Hanover St, Manchester, New Hampshire 03104, followed by a funeral service from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
