

Kenneth A. “Kenwood” Wood, 52, of Ft. Pierce, FL, died October 12, 2015 at his parents’ home in Auburn after a short illness. He was born in Manchester on August 2, 1963 the son of Stanley and Marion (Thomas) Wood. He grew up in Auburn, was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy Class of 1981.
He was self-employed as the owner and operator of Kenwood Trucking Company. Ken loved the outdoors, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and spending time with his dogs Kayla, Shiloh and Hayley. He was a talented baseball player (nicknamed Curveball) and an avid fan of the Boston sports teams especially the Red Sox and the Patriots. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, son and brother.
He was predeceased by his brother Thomas Wood in 1989 and by his grandparents Eleanor and Lawrence Thomas and Paul and Frances Wood.
Members of his family include his wife April Wood, his daughter Antoinette Wood-Faulkner both of Florida, his parents Stanley and Marion Wood of Auburn, his sister Janet Wood-Myers and her husband Dale of Chester, his niece Kelsey Myers as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday October 16 from 4 to 7pm at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester. A Memorial Service was celebrated on Saturday October 17 at 1pm in the Longmeadow Congregational Church 4 Wilson’s Crossing Rd. in Auburn. Urn burial followed in Auburn Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Ken’s name be made to the Longmeadow Congregational Church PO Box 356 Auburn, NH 03032.
