

Leon V. Provencher, 69, of Manchester, passed away peacefully October 5, 2014 surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. He was born in Manchester on August 2, 1945 the son of Leo and Anita (Paquin) Provencher and was a lifelong resident of the Queen City. He was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Manchester Central High School.
He was employed as an engineer at Sanders Associates and Parlex Corporation and was a proud veteran of the US Coast Guard. Leon was a great storyteller and enjoyed entertaining with his tales. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend to all.
Members of his family include his two daughters Cheryl Brewster and her husband Gary of Manchester and Darlene Palmer and her husband Jim of West Gardiner, ME, his three sons Michael Provencher and his wife Melisa, Eric Provencher and his wife Marcia and Thomas Provencher and his wife Kristen all of St. Albans, ME, his nine grandchildren Sarah, Timothy, Jessica, Tyler, Mikayla, Ryan, Audrey, Brett and Samantha, his four brothers Albert Provencher and his wife Cecile, Ronald Provencher, Norman Provencher and his wife Tracy all of Manchester and Roland Provencher and his wife Lorraine of Merrimack, his two sisters Denise Proulx Lavigne of Auburn and Diane Provencher of Manchester as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There are no calling hours. Private urn burial will be at a later date. The family requests that memorial donations in Leon’s name be made to the American Kidney Fund 11921 Rockville Pike Suite 300 Rockville, MD 20852. The McHugh Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family with his care.
