

Lillifred E. “Freddie” Reidy, 93, of Nashua died October 26, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born in Manchester on August 22, 1917, the daughter of Fred and Lillian (Cutler) Russell.
Raised in Manchester, she was a graduate of St. George High School.
She resided in Endicott NY for thirty years and was employed as a teller at the Endicott Trust Company. She began volunteering in order to meet people in her new hometown and ultimately gave more than 10,000 hours of time to the Red Cross and the Ideal Hospital in Endicott.
Following the death of her husband E. Les Reidy in 1984, she returned to New Hampshire and settled in Nashua. She has been a resident of Aynsley Place since the early 1990’s and Freddy once again rose to volunteer to help those residents in need. In 2006 she was awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Gold Award for her RSVP volunteer service hours in 2005. Many of the recipients of her acts of kindness were younger than she and became members of her extended family.
IN HER LIFE: She is survived by nieces, Mary Healey of Manchester and Shari O’Donnell of Carver, MA; nephews, David Russell of Punta Gorda, FL and Brian Russell of Hooksett; grand nieces, Kathleen Pearhl of Rindge, NH, Sharon Costigan of Columbia, MD and Pamela Comstock of Punta Gorda, FL; grand nephews, Bruce Russell and Kevin Healey , both of Manchester.
A calling hour was held on Friday, November 5th from 10 to 11 AM in the McHugh Funeral Home, 483 Beech St., corner of Hanover St. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 AM in St. Anne-St. Augustin Church, 382 Beech St. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
