

He was born in Manchester on July 1, 1920, the son of the late Joseph and Alida (Fontaine) Baron and was a lifelong resident of the Queen City. He was educated in the Manchester School System and was a graduate of the New Hampshire Vocational Technical College. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator by the Manchester Water Works Department for 31 years. After his retirement, he worked in the security department of the Elliot Hospital for 8 years. He enjoyed dancing and was an excellent handyman and mechanic. He had a great love of life.
Louis was a US Army veteran during World War II and served as a sergeant in the 24th Air Depot Group. He was a member of the Manchester Post 79 and the Henry J. Sweeney Post #2.
IN HIS LIFE: Members of his family include his wife of sixty-five years, Mary J. (Kowalczyk) Baron of Manchester, his son Richard Baron and his wife Lisa of Palm Beach, FL, his two daughters, Corrine Bond and her husband Russell of Derry, NH and Gail Delisle and her husband Ron of Manchester, eight grandchildren Gina Gough of Rhode Island, Doug Paquette of Manchester, Shelly Burke of Weare, Krystal Delisle of Manchester, Jamie Baron of Somersworth, Ashley Baron of California and Sabrina Baron and Stephen Baron both of Florida, four great-grandchildren Evan Gough, Bryce Gough and Alexa Gough all of Rhode Island and Brendan Burke of Weare and his sister Rose St. Pierre of Rochester.
He is predeceased by a brother and five sisters.
Calling hours will be held on Monday April 4, 2011 from 4 to 7 PM at the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday April 5, 2011 at10 AM in St. Joseph Cathedral corner of Pine and Lowell Sts. Manchester. Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Manchester.
