Madeleine Bouffard

Madeleine Janine Bouffard, 89, passed away peacefully while residing at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown, NH. Born on July 20, 1932 in Woburn, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Odilon Garand and Yvonne (Bilodeau) Garand.

A Canadian native, Madeleine grew up in a large family, being one of twelve children. She moved to Winslow, Maine, where she raised three wonderful children with her husband, Armand. In 2016, she moved to New Hampshire to be close to her children. She loved being a homemaker and spending quality time with her family. A favorite past time of hers was camping, wherever the road took her. Her love for travel brought her to many places, from the coast of Florida to California, but one of her most cherished trips was a road trip to Colorado. She had many hobbies that included dancing, bingo and attending holiday parties.

Madeleine is survived by her loving husband, Armand Bouffard of Manchester, NH; two daughters, Ginette Bouffard of Manchester, NH and Carol Bouffard of Manchester, NH; brother Fernand Garand and his wife Simone, Julien Garand and his wife Ingrid, Viateur Garand and his wife Evelyn, Magella Garand and his wife Denise and Rosaire Garand and his wife Lise; sister-in-law Jeannette Garand and many loving nieces, nephews and treasured in-laws.

In addition to her parents, Madeleine is predeceased by her son, Peter Bouffard; two sisters, Rachel Breault and husband Leonide, Jacqueline Lapointe and her husband Rosaire; brother John Garand, Benoit Garand, Claude Garand and Lionel Garand.

The family would like to recognize and express gratitude to the staff at the Hillsborough County Nursing home for their care and compassion.

A celebration of life for Madeleine will be held Monday, July 25, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at McHugh Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 283 Hanover St, Manchester, New Hampshire 03104. A memorial service will occur Monday, July 25, 2022 at 11:30 AM, 283 Hanover St, Manchester, New Hampshire 03104. A burial will occur Monday, July 25, 2022 at 12:30 PM at Pine Grove Cemetery, 765 Brown Avenue, Manchester, NH 03103.
