

Maria L. Bond, 89, of Manchester, died August 11, 2013 at the Villa Crest Nursing Center. She was born on December 2, 1923 in Ascoli Piceno, Italy the daughter of Pietro and Anna (Barella) Talucci. She grew up in her home town where she was educated in the local school system. It was in Trieste, Italy that she met her future husband Ralph Bond, who was stationed there, while serving with the US Army during World War II. They were married in Italy on December 18, 1948.
They relocated to the United States in 1950 living first in Ohio before moving to New Jersey in 1954 where they raised their family and finally retiring to New Hampshire in 1989. While in New Hampshire, they resided in Nashua, Hudson and Londonderry.
Maria worked in manufacturing for numerous companies including General Motors, Campbell Soup, Mack Wayne, Newton Plastics and the Samsung Corporation but her true vocation was that of a loving wife, mother and nana. She was an avid collector of dolls, enjoyed time spent working on jigsaw puzzles and was skilled in crochet and crafts.
She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Adele and Roy Sargeant.
Members of her family include her husband Ralph Bond of Manchester, her daughter Jane E. Elliott and her husband Curtis of Moultonborough, her son Mark S. Bond and his wife Denise of Washington, NJ, her three grandchildren Emily H. Elliott of Redwood City, CA, Krista L. Schroeder and her husband Marc of New York City, NY and Sean M. Bond of Washington, NJ as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service was held on Wednesday August 21 at 11AM at the NH State Veterans Cemetery 110 Daniel Webster Highway Boscawen, NH 03303. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Maria’s name to the NH State Veterans Cemetery. .
