Marion L. Handschumaker

Marion Lena Handschumaker, 94, of Manchester, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. Born on November 13, 1927 in Bedford, NH, she was the daughter of the late William and Ora Miller (Nault).

Marion grew up in Bedford and attended the Bedford School system for her earlier year's education before graduating from West High School in Manchester. Growing up, her home was filled with music and you could find Marion and her sister Eleanor playing guitar and singing their favorite country music songs. She loved going for rides with her husband Arthur and dogs, Bundy and Gussy and stopping at Dairy Queen for ice cream.

Marion was a kind, caring and beautiful person, inside and out. Her family meant the world to her and she loved spending time with them. She had the gift of knowing just how to make each one of them feel like the most special person in the room. Christmas was her favorite holiday. Decorations and lights everywhere. Sewing was one of her greatest enjoyments. Whether it be curtains, pillows, pants even cheerleading outfits, she always loved hearing "Mom, can you fix this please?" She loved flowers in her front yard during the spring and summer and watching the birds on the many birdfeeders. She loved sharing her naptimes with sweet Bella, the family kitty.

She is survived by her loving children Robert Handschumaker of Manchester, Susie Lafond and her life partner Blake Erickson of Manchester, Janet Bartis of Auburn, Bill Handschumaker and his wife Linette of Manchester, Debra Handschumaker of Nashua, Alan Handschumaker of Manchester, Kevin Handschumaker and his life partner Lori Svendbye of Manchester; sister Darlene Brooks of Manchester; brothers Neal Miller of Billerica MA, and Earl Miller of Chesapeake VA; grandchildren Tricia Houghton, Eric Lafond, Kim Ladieu and her husband Jeff, Mark West, Ashley Britt and her husband Jose, Jonathan Handschumaker, Jina Johnson and her husband Frank, Kiersten Romano and her wife Erin; great-grandchildren Max, Kaden, Hailee, Lacie, Desiree, Austin, Brody, Addyson, Jayanna, Paisley, Colby, Tiffany, Stephanie, Meghan; great-great-grandchildren Jaylynne, Jocelin, Tenley, Remi, Saylor, and three on the way; and many nieces, nephews and dear friend Elaine White. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years Arthur Handschumaker; precious son Russell Alan; adored grandson Jeffrey Handschumaker, dear daughter in law Laura Handschumaker, brothers Richard, Walter, Clifford, William, Raymond, Franklin; sisters Eleanor, Ora, Delia, Barbara, step sister Elaine; step mother and best friend Rita Miller; and lifelong friend Marion Conway.

A Visitation will take place on Wednesday May 4th from 11:00AM to 11:30AM at the McHugh Funeral Home located on 283 Hanover Street, Manchester NH; a Funeral Service at 11:30am in the funeral home and Burial to follow at 12:15PM at Pine Grove Cemetery, 765 Brown Ave, Manchester NH
