

Mary Rose (Gingues) Plante, 93, longtime resident of Kingston, NH passed away peacefully at the Derry Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on June 2, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born in Canaan, VT to her late parents Archie and Armande (Benoit) Gingues on December 25, 1931. On October 2, 1948, she married the love of her life Gregory Plante.
Mary enjoyed the many simple pleasures in life from dancing, camping and spending time with her family. She is remembered for her hard work, values, and integrity. Mary worked for Northeast Aluminum in Lawrence, MA where she was the first woman machinist and eventually retiring as a shop foreman after 30 years of service. After retirement, she worked as a parttime waitress, which she immensely enjoyed. Mary touched many lives in many different circles, where she will be greatly missed and loved by all.
Mary, who was the cherished matriarch of her family, is survived by her two children, her son Denis Plante and his wife Julie of Freemont, NH and her daughter Ellen Petralito and her husband John of Manchester, NH. She is also the loving grandmother to her four grandchildren and great-grandmother to seven. As one of seven children, Mary is survived by two sisters Julie Boutin of Connecticut and Jeannette Dinicola of Salem, NH, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Greg, with whom she celebrated over 67 years of marriage before his passing in 2015, three sisters and her brother.
Visitation for Mary will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover Street, Manchester. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM at the funeral home, followed by a luncheon where friends and family can enjoy and celebrate Mary’s life.
