
Michael Voskian, 85, of Manchester, died October 13, 2014 at the Villa Crest Nursing and Retirement Center after a brief illness. He was born in Maplewood, NJ on March 23, 1929 the son of John and Helen (Avedian) Voskian. He grew up in New Jersey and was educated in the local school system.
He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict and following his discharge he was employed as a clerk with the US Postal Service. Mike enjoyed bowling and was always ready for a challenging game of poker. He was a talented furniture maker and created most of the furnishings in his home.
He was married in 1953 to the love of his life Thelma Chloodian and they made their home in Livingston, NJ for over 40 years relocating to Manchester in 1996.
Members of his family include his wife of 61 years Thelma Voskian of Manchester, his brother Nishan Voskian and his wife Alice of New Jersey as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday October 16 from 4 to 7PM at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester. A Funeral Service was celebrated on Friday October 17 at 10:30AM in the funeral Home. Burial with military honors followed at 1PM in the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Michael’s name be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of MA/NH 480 Pleasant St. Watertown, MA 02472 or to St. Gregory’s Armenian Apostolic Church of the Merrimack Valley 158 Main St. Andover, MA 01845.
